Lobuche East Peak with Seven Summit Treks
After months of careful planning and training, I finally arrived in Kathmandu after two days of travel on April 13, 2023. Having arrived in Kathmandu 3 days prior to my departure for Lukla I took advantage of the time to visit some of the incredible temples in Kathmandu. I also walked around Thamel and picked up a few last minute items before heading to the mountains..
Since early 2023 domestic flights to Lukla are now departing from an airport 3 hours from Kathmandu.. (instead of from Kathmandu) so many trekkers and climbers are choosing to pay an added fee to fly from Kathmandu via helicopter.. saving an early morning wake up - I chose to fly via heli and it was an amazing experience!
The spring climbing season sees thousands of climbers and trekkers pass through the beautiful town of Lukla which sits at 2860M.. we landed in the late morning and after meeting up with our porters and a Sherpa guide named Purbha, began the trek towards Lobuche. Our first stop was Phakding which we reached in under 2 hours..
